NIANTIC, CT – August 29, 2003 - Hoteliers looking for an advanced energy management solution, but constrained by difficult to install thermostat control cables, can now rest easy. INNCOM recently introduced a battery-powered version of its powerful energy conserving e4™ Smart Digital Thermostat.
Dubbed e529, the battery-powered model is a recent addition to the INNCOM family of energy saving solutions. The wireless thermostat uses four double-A batteries and typically operates two years or more without needing a battery change.
This expandable multi-purpose device is a DDC illuminated thermostat designed to control virtually any fan coil unit or packaged terminal air conditioner found in hotel guestrooms. When connected to a centrally controlled network, the e529 offers substantial energy savings as part of an integrated energy management system.
The battery-powered e529 allows hoteliers flexibility to upgrade rooms without the steep costs associated with adding new electrical wiring in unfriendly and difficult-to-maneuver-around environments. Not only does it work great in retrofits, but it’s also a wise investment for new hotels where the labor pool is expensive. The units are typically installed in less than one hour.
Besides controlling the HVAC unit, the e529 communicates with door locks, mini bars, guestroom lights, and provides occupancy status reports to the housekeeping department.
“The e529 enables hoteliers to install a thermostat in the most practical location for both guest comfort and efficient HVAC operation,” said Bill Russell, VP of Sales with INNCOM’s Midwest region. “Previously it may have been virtually impossible or extremely expensive to upgrade temperature control. Now, with the e529 and its wireless IR communication platform, installation is quick and affordable. Guest comfort and satisfaction are enhanced and hotels can realize energy savings and increased profits.”
